The Mortgage Professor – This author of this site is Jack Guttentag, Professor of Finance Emeritus at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This is my favorite site for mortgage calculators and for mortgage shopping. There are over 50 calculators addressing all kinds of mortgage scenarios.

Better Mortgage – A relatively new company, Better Mortgage makes use of technology to make the mortgage experience easier and to lower the costs. They have a Better Price Guarantee. If you find a lower offer elsewhere, they will beat it. [I put them to the test. I obtained a better offer from a lender through The Mortgage Professor site, provided the details to them, and they beat the offer!]

American Federal Mortgage – A no-nonsense lender with competitive pricing.

Raleigh Mortgage Group – A local lender with great mortgage options for real estate investors. My preferred loan officer is Mike Alberico.

Movement Mortgage – I haven’t personally used this company, but I’m familiar with them. A good friend, Mark Wohlschlaeger, is a loan officer here. I can attest to his character and integrity. Movement claims to process more than 75% of their loans in just 7 business days!
