PERSONAL STATEMENT
Given the late start I got into wrestling, I strongly believe that my best days are ahead of me. I'm confident that I would excel on a college wrestling team because I am always asking questions, looking for ways to get better, and surrounding myself with athletes who share the same goals. My drive to improve is what separates me from other wrestlers - I am always first on and last off of the mat each day.

WRESTLING BACKGROUND
After I began wrestling my freshman year, I soon realized that “working hard” wasn’t enough; that just going to school practices wasn’t enough for me to reach my goal of becoming a state champion. I may have gotten a late start compared to other kids, but this was no deterrent, I was driven and determined to be the best. I quickly became the one asking the most questions, seeking the most help, and trying to take advantage of all possible opportunities to grow.
My ex-teammate, now a Division II wrestler, would wrestle at this local club where the members consisted of mostly state qualifiers, placers, and champions. Afraid at first, but knowing that it was the place I needed to be, I joined the club. Ever since the first practice, I fell in love with the process. Day in and day out I started to get improve until the point where I was teaching others how to perform the drills. Through wrestling state placers, now Division I wrestlers, I gained intensity, focus, and other intangibles that closed the gap with them. Unfortunately, this club shutdown in March. I then sought the next best place to go and found a club about an hour away that was a great fit. Here, at the North Carolina Wrestling Factory, I found experienced and committed wrestlers to train with 3x/week.
Recently, I moved two hours away to Wilmington, NC in order to train under Alan Waters (2X NCAA All-American) and Boomer Boyd (both former collegiate wrestlers for the University of Missouri). This was a big step for me and my family, but I'm excited for the opportunity to train at an elite club. I look forward to competing again soon to get a running start into what I believe will be a very successful senior season!
